Residency opportunity!
Be responsible for keeping facilities and equipment clean for others’ use and undertake regular maintenance and organizational tasks necessary for upkeep of communal studio (average of 15-20 hours a week)
Participation in the collective life of the studio
Up to 10 hours annually of community outreach (slide lectures or demonstrations)
Be a monitor for studio hours and assist Master Artist Workshops when needed
Contribute a piece to an annual Armory Art Center Fundraiser
Participate in Armory special events as needed

The Robert Chapman Turner Teaching Fellow in Ceramic Art
The School of Art and Design in the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University is seeking candidates for The Robert Chapman Turner Teaching Fellow in Ceramic Art. The Turner Teaching Fellow will be an emerging artist with an MFA or equivalent degree. Broad-based knowledge of contemporary art is expected. Prior teaching experience is welcome. The fellowship is non-tenure track and renewable up to three years. The fellowship is $35,000 dollars per year, plus a stipend up to $3,000 per year for professional development. A studio space will be provided with full access to ceramic facilities.
Established in honor of Robert Chapman Turner, distinguished Professor Emeritus at Alfred, the Turner Teaching Fellowship is a full-time faculty positionwithin the Division of Ceramic Art. All ceramic genres are eligible for consideration. Expertise in 3d modeling and digital prototyping is desirable. Teaching responsibilities will consist of classes at the undergraduate level. The candidate’s area of expertise will factor into the teaching assignments.
Qualifications
Required: MFA or equivalent degree; emerging record of scholarly/creative productivity appropriate to teaching at the college level; ability to work collaboratively within the department, the school, the university, and the community; to communicate with and mentor students on all levels. Preferred:Experience teaching and advising students.
